• Trademark Property Company has announced new leases at Burr Ridge Village Center. Two Bostons Pet Boutique is now open at the center, and Stix & Stones Wood Fired Pizza and Evereve will open in spring 2015.
• The Lake Forest-based Project Management Institute, the world’s largest not-for-profit membership association for the project management profession, announces that W. Stephen Sawle has been elected to a three year term on its 2015 board of directors.
• Veterinarian Dr. Kathleen Heneghan with Elmwood-Grove Animal Hospital in River Grove has been named the latest winner of the nationwide My Vet’s the Best Contest hosted by Pets Best Insurance Services, LLC. The contest recognizes veterinarians across the U.S. for their outstanding performance in their field. As the contest winner, Dr. Heneghan received $1,000 from Pets Best to treat animals in need. She plans to contribute the funds to her animal hospital’s Needy Animal Fund, which helps stray animals from two Chicago suburbs.
• Catherine D. Cavenagh has joined Dixon Law Office in LaGrange, as a trial attorney. Cavenagh is focusing her practice on representing injured workers in complex worker’s compensation cases. She also will represent office clients in catastrophic personal injury cases. In her few months on staff, she has made a big difference for clients of the firm.
• Lake Forest resident Scott Gibson has been inducted into the Society of Trial Lawyers, as one of the few non-Chicago-based trial lawyers who have the jury trial qualifications for membership. Membership is by invitation only and by peer review of actual jury trial work.
