A prominent businessman who founded his own demolition company has put his Sheridan Road property on the market for $3.35 million. According to Chicago Real Estate Daily:
Howard Mandell, a Chicago resident and a co-owner of National Wrecking of Chicago, paid $3.97 million in 2004 for the Sheridan Road property as well as some neighboring land, which had two older homes on it. The homes were torn down and the new home was built on a portion of that property, said Howard Mandell’s son Rick Mandell, who is also a co-owner of National Wrecking.
Rick Mandell said he built the six-bedroom, seven-bath home for his family in 2007 and then sold it to his father. The son, who has been living in the house, said he divorced and no longer needs as much space.
The nearly one-acre property was listed for $4.49 million in 2011 but was on the market most recently in November for $3.7 million before it was put back on the market this month for $3.3 million, according to Redfin, an online brokerage. The home is listed with Susan Maman of @properties.
